Chechnya marks Constitution Day

Chechnya is marking the 9th anniversary of the adoption of its Constitution. 

Festivities are being held in all Chechen cities, with the main event taking place in the capital of the republic, Grozny.

The Chechen Constitution was adopted on March 23, 2003. The referendum was held on the initiative of the then Chechen president, Ahmat Kadyrov.
