Deputy Attorney General accuses security officials of the South Federal District of manipulating statistics

Deputy Prosecutor General Sergei Vorobyov told an inter-agency meeting
in Maykop in the Southern Federal District that there is an acute problem
of statistical manipulation and concealment of crimes from consideration,
RIA Novosti reports with reference to the official website of the executive
powers of Adygea.

According to Vorobyov, last year the SFD registered 193.7 thousand crimes,
which is 5% less than last year. The Deputy Prosecutor General said that this
is evidence of statistical manipulation.

Participants in the meeting talked about a large number of instances of
concealing facts of crime by means of unlawful refusals to initiate
criminal cases, etc.

The head of Adygea, Aslan Tkhakushinov, who participated in the meeting,
expressed the need to organize joint cooperation between the authorities and the
country's law enforcement agencies
