China will not attend Friends of Syria Conference

China does not plan to attend the Friends of Syria Conference in Istanbul in April.

Spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Hon Lee said that efforts should be put in preventing further tensions in Syria and solution of problems through political negotiations.

Russia and Syria skipped the previous Friends of Syria Conference in Tunisia in February.
