Geneva to host new round of talks on Abkhazia, South Ossetia

Geneva will host a new round of talks on stability and security in the Caucasus, RIA Novosti reports.


Russia, Georgia, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, US, EU, UN and OSCE are taking part.


Georgia will demand fulfillment of the cease-fire agreement, formation of security mechanisms, permission for international observers to arrive, prevention of incidents and encouragement of refugees' return, Georgian Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said.


Abkhazia wants to preserve monuments from the 8-9th centuries, Deputy Foreign Minister Irakly Khintba said.
Geneva talks started after the Russian-Georgian conflict in August 2008, according to the cease-fire agreement of August 12.
