Russia's North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria is marking Revival Day. The Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR restored the Kabardino-Balkarian ASSR on March 28, 1957. Balkarians were allowed to return after 13 years of exile.

The Revival Day was set on in 1994 to mark the 50th anniversary of deportation to Middle Asia and Kazakhstan by Stalin.

Kabardino-Balkarian Leader Arsen Kanokov made a speech to mark the 55th anniversary of statehood.
