Ingushetians complain about police violations

Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov has met Prosecutor Pavel Belyakov and Chief of the regional Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee Ibragim Mogushkov. Yevkurov said that he receives numerous complaints from citizens about violations by the police, the leader’s website says.

Yevkurov said that excess of force should not happen during arrests. He noted that military vehicles should not frighten the population by passing villages so often. Forcing people to arrive should only happen if they refuse to do it when summoned.

The Ingush leader discussed violations by the police in the last days. He ordered the prosecutor to summon a council on the issue and form a special group to investigate it if necessary.
