Iran condemns US missile defenses
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIran is opposed to the plan to build missile defenses of the US and Arab states of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (CCASG), RIA Novosti reports.
Iranian Defense Minister Ahmed Vahidi urged friendly states to avoid taking part in the project.
The Foreign Minister of Bahrain, Halid bin Ahmed al-Halif, said that the US and members of the CCASG have agreed that the missile defenses should be formed in case of tensions in Iran. He added that Iran is the only source of tensions.
Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have Patriot missile complexes. The US wants a single missile system and exchange of information with all six members of the CCASG for protection from Iran and maintenance of oil shipments.
