Yuliy Gusman condemns Sobchak for tactless question to Khamatova

Yuliy Gusman, Russian film director and founder of the Nika Premium, has commented on the scandal involving TV host Xenia Sobchak, actors Yevgeny Mironov and Chulpan Khamatova in Moscow, RBC reports.

The film director believes that Sobchak chose a bad time and place for the political question. Yet, the Nika ceremony stirred up society, adding spices” to the ceremony.

The scandal happened at the Nika Awards in Moscow on April 8. Xenia Sobahck asked Chulpan Khamatova, who was awarded for charity activities at the “Give Life” Fund, whether she would agitate for Putin if she were not engaged in beneficence.

Sobchak meant the video where Khamatova urges people to vote for Vladimir Putin at the presidential polls in March 2012. The video caused a major social outcry.
