Small and medium business in Ingushetia

republic is way behind other regions in the sphere of small business
support. However, there are grants for new businesses in Magas and
Karabulak. Over 300 small businesses have received support total to 44
million rubles (just under $1.5 million), 280 new jobs have been
created and another 1132 will be created this year.
The head of the Ingush Chamber of Trade and Industry, Murad
Khamatkhanov, believes that they need private-state partnerships,
especially in agriculture. But they lack specialists. Ingush import
agricultural products worth 8-9 billion rubles annually.
The head of the economic council under the Ingush president, Ahmed
Malsagov, says that Ingushetia has no progress in social-economic
development. He noted that the republic has high prices and low
purchasing power, high unemployment and few specialists. Malsagov also
pointed out the problem of rising prices for energy. Nonetheless, he
noted that the region received a large amount of financial aid within
the program of social-economic development 2010-2016 and they will try
to use it with maximum efficiency.
The leader of 'Civil Society of Ingushetia', Umalat Lyanov, said that
Krasnodar is a good example, where one out of six people is involved
in small business, while only one out of sixty is involved in
Ingushetia.
The director of 'Gorizont', Kureysh Tsechoyev, criticized the bidding
for goods and services for state needs that go under unknown rules. He
also noted the low demand for goods produced by local businessmen.
