New transport ring to be built in Astana

The Kazakh capital Astana will built a new ring road at the center, Mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov said at the council on development of Astana, attended by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Trend reports.

The minor transport ring will be 28 km long and will consist of 16 junctions, crossovers and bridges. 13.6 km of the western part will be built this year. The project will be completed in 2013.

Astana will also build Botanic Garden. The project is undergoing feasibility studies. First trees will be planted on April 21, as part of Saturday voluntary work.

Another initiative is reconstruction of the city park for active and family recreation. It will have a central fountain and a physical fitness zone. A zone with attraction with a multi-amusement complex will be built.
