In Georgia, 200 convicts are pardoned for Easter

The President of Georgia has pardoned 200 convicts on Orthodox Easter. As stated at the press briefing by the Minister of Penitentiary, Probationary and Legal Assistance, Khatuna Kalmakhelidze, all of them will leave their places of detention today and be able to celebrate Easter at home, Georgia Online reports.

It should be noted that the commission of pardons under the President of Georgia encouraged him to pardon 170 convicts and halve the prison terms of 30.
Among those pardoned are women; however, minors are not pardoned, as they are convicted of serious crimes.
