St. Petersburg governor denies resignation rumours

Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko has commented on rumours surrounding his resignation on Twitter, Interfax reports.

The governor said “they will surely get bored waiting”, commenting on the resignation rumours.

Local media reported earlier that Poltavchenko planned to resign on May 6. Some believed that St. Petersburg would organize early governor elections in autumn.
