Azerbaijani Presidential Administration to sue newspaper for false information about president’s schedule

The Azerbaijani Presidential Administration said that the Azadlyg newspaper has been spreading false, abusive and provocative information about President Ilham Aliyev, 1news.az reports.

The paper published an article on April 24, 2012, saying that Aliyev’s watch is worth $800,000. The Presidential Administration denied the information, noting that Aliyev is a naturally modest man and prefers simplicity, his watch is made of simple metal.

The newspaper must publish an article admitting false information and apologize, otherwise a lawsuit will be organized.
