Chechen police officers abusing suspect to be trialed

The Directorate of the Investigative Committee in Chechnya has initiated a criminal case against two police officers of the Alkhan-Kala, Kulary Police Stations at the Grozny District for breaking an arm and beating a suspect with guns, RBC reports.
Two police officers abused the 63-year old suspect on April 4, 2012. He was detained without a reason.
The Investigative Committee and the Interior Ministry became a lot more attentive in monitoring violations by police officers after the death of 52-year old Sergey Nazarov at the Dalny Police Station in Kazan. The police officers there were arrested, the station closed. Interior Minister of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov was dismissed. The Investigative Committee formed a special section to investigate police crimes.
