The Georgian TV company ‘Maestro’ concluded an agreement with the
Russian company ‘Mir’ on broadcasting using a Russian satellite. The
head of ‘Maestro’, Kakhi Bekauri, said that the company did not think
about politics, News Georgia reports.

Bekauri said that they would have liked to broadcast using Turksat,
because all the Georgian TV channels use it. But all the Georgian
channels said that if ‘Maestro’ starts using Turksat they will find
themselves a different satellite.

It was reported earlier that this is the first broadcast by ‘Maestro’
using a satellite and will have a new format as a 24-hour news
channel. Bekauri said that they expect to be Georgia’s top information
channel offering balanced information.
