Turkey prolongs visa-free regime for Russian tourists

Turkey has prolonged the visa-free regime for Russian tourists from 30 to 60 days, RIA Novosti cites Jelyal Kylyc, the advisor for culture and tourism of the Turkish Embassy in Moscow.

30-day visits for Russians were set by Turkey in mid-April 2011. The total period of staying in Turkey should not exceed 90 days. Together, period should not exceed 180 days per year. The Turkish government decided to double the visa-free regime until December 31, 2011.

The latest terms of visa-free regime will stay in force from May 4 to December 31, 2012.

Turkey is one of the most popular states for Russian tourists. It had 3.47 million Russian tourists in 2011, exceeding the figures of 2010 by 11.6%. 11% of all foreign tourists in Turkey are Russians.
