Several hundred activists gathered in the center of Moscow to protest against Putin's inauguration, the correspondent of Gazeta.ru reports. The streets in the center of Moscow were closed and there were great numbers of police in the city. This is how the authorities tried to prevent any rallies of Putin's opponents, who wanted to meet on Manezhnaya Square in the morning to continue yesterday's March of Millions. Instead, only a few protesters could reach the center. The Gazeta.ru correspondent reports there were 150 – 200 activists in the Tverskaya and Bolshaya Nikitskaya areas, some of them were detained by riot police. A mopping-up operation continued on Nikitsky Boulevard, where the protesters went after the arrests started.

According to the official data, yesterday 436 protesters were arrested after the March of Millions. The opposition presented a list of 650 people that ended up in police custody.
