Sixteen tourists missing in Karachay-Cherkessia

Rescuers are searching for 16 tourists from Astrakhan missing in Karachay-Cherkessia, Vzglyad reports.

The Center for Crisis Situations of the North Caucasus Regional Center of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies received information that the tourist group was registered at the Arzhy Rescue Subdivision of the Karachay-Cherkessia Rescue Group of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies.

The tourists were to pass the gorges of Pkhiyan and Temir Kulak and then return to the Arzhy Village to the Polyana Slyotov.

A Mi-8 helicopter with rescuers is on its way with doctors to assist the searches.
