Land disputes in Kabardino-Balkaria slow tourism development of North Caucasus
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaLand disputes in Kabardino-Balkaria slow the development of the region and the formation of the North Caucasus Tourism Cluster, CEO of the Northern Caucasus Resorts Senator Ahmed Bilalov said at a round-table conference on tourism development at the Russian Public Chamber, Vestnik Kavkaza cites a press release.
No construction can be organized without settlement of legal and land issues, Bilalov emphasizes. He noted that the company Northern Caucasus Resorts does not own the land of special economic zones, it only manages them.
The senator noted that no such problems occurred in any other region.
Uzeir Kurdanov, head of Elbrus Village, agreed that such a problem exists. He said that the population is aware of benefits that come from tourism. Kurdanov explained that the Soviet Union paid great attention to development of the region, but no actions have been taken since. Tourists will have problems with electricity, gas pipelines and sewers.
