Georgia files bid to host UEFA Euro 2020

Georgia has filed a bid to host the UEFA European Football Championship in 2020, Georgian Minister for Sports and youth Affairs said, Vzglyad reports.

The minister promised to develop sports infrastructure, build new stadiums, attract new tourists. UEFA will respond within the day.

The minister added that Georgia would like to host the games with Azerbaijan, but the latter is bidding to host the Olympic Games.

Elkhan mamedov, Director General of the Association of Azerbaijani Football Federations, said that Azerbaijan will not bid for hosting the football games, 1news.az reports.
