Omani and Iranian naval forces to hold joint exercise

The naval forces of Iran and Oman will hold joint military exercises, the Assistant Chief of the Operations Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, General Mustafa Salami, said on Tuesday, Trend cites Iranian news agency FARS as saying. Salami said the joint military exercises will be held in the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas.

Responding to questions from journalists after the meeting of the Defence Committees of Iran and Oman in Tehran, Salami said that an agreement had been reached between these structures to expand military cooperation.

"An agreement on exchange of students of military schools, joint exercises and participation of observer experts from the two countries at the exercises conducted in Iran and Oman has been reached at the joint meeting of the committees," Salami said.
