NCFD lawmakers to fight international terrorism together

Grozny has concluded the 3rd Conference of the Northern Caucasus Parliamentary Association, resulting in 23 decisions made.

Vestnik Kavkaza reported earlier that Chechen Speaker of Parliament Dukuvakhi Abdurakhmanov chaired the conference on May 14. Delegations arrived from all regions of the federal district, making a total of 50 lawmakers.

The speaker emphasized economic and social protection of citizens and maintenance of peace and consent.

23 decisions were made, including 13 legislative initiatives filed to the Russian parliament. 8 declarations were filed to the state authorities. A declaration was made for people of the North Caucasus, urging them to unite against international terrorism.

The Ingush parliament proposed amendments to the principles of local governments. It also proposed giving migrants the right for social payments for constructing houses, not only for purchasing it.

Lawmakers approved Stavropol amendments to the law on pensions to improve pension servicing, regardless of the place of work and residence. They also proposed amendments to the law on agricultural land to restore the rights for land of people working during the period of privatization of agricultural lands at factories, science institutes, agricultural education centers.

North Ossetia – Alania initiated amendments to the Criminal Code, introducing bigger punishments for stealing state awards.

Chechnya had 3 initiatives, urging people of the North Caucasus to consolidate in fighting international terrorism, separatism and wahhabism, an urge for the Russian government to speed up construction of the refinery in Grozny and hand the Stavropol-Prokhladnaya-Kizlyar-Kraynovka Highway to federal administrators.

Delegates met Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and discussed topical issues of the North Caucasus.

The fourth parliamentary conference will be held in Makhachkala this autumn.
