Azerbaijan urges IAEA to close nuclear power plant in Metsamor

The Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy, Natig Abbasov, has met with the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Internal Oversight Services Director, Carsten Meyer, News.az reports.

Projects on the General Plan for Energy Development and Support the Use of Nuclear Energy were discussed at the meeting.

Abbasov noted that the Metsamor atomic power station in Armenia posed a danger to the whole region. According to him, the station could create a problem and he called on the IAEA to close the Metsamor atomic power station.
