Who will build the people of the future?

The process of forming Medvedev’s cabinet hasn’t been completed yet; discussions of scattering the opposition at recent demonstrations in Moscow are still heard. But a new player appeared in the party field. The mass media reported about the project “Smart Russia,” but one of supposed initiators of the structure, Vasily Yakemenko, denied his participation few hours after first rumors on its foundation appeared in the media.

It seems to be a smart PR step of the former leader of the movement “Nashi,” who by announcement of a new movement is promoting the project No.2. Yakemenko’s press conference, which was held on Monday, brought to light only one aspect of his future political career. He leaves the government and thinks that his activity in Rosmolodyozh was successful. The Kremlin is ready to support his intention to continue the mission in a new perspective – as a head of a political party.

As for “Smart Russia,” the story is fogged much more than political prospects of the former leader of “Nashi”. Forbes reported that Gleb Pavlovsky and Alexei Chadov, who left United Russia few months ago, will take part in the project.

Mentioning of Chadayev makes us think that the real head of the project “Smart Russia” is Mr. Surkov, since his position in the current structure of power is not clear yet. It seems we have a new youth project or projects which are called to replace “Nashi” which wasn’t really effective during the struggle against the opposition in Bolotnaya and Sakharova Squares.

Of course, considering the Kremlin reality, importance of the project is not about content, but a person who will deal with it. This circumstance makes us doubt that Yakemenko is preparing some separate project different from Smart Russia. Such step would be too risky, as the contingent of “people of the future” is one and the same.

These people are socially active and politically ambitious young people aged 25-30 who have no intention to join the opposition. There are plenty of such people in regions. Some of them are electorates of A Just Russia and LDPR. Many politicians predict a conflict between Yakemenko and Zhirinovsky in the sphere.
