Russia to skip Friends of Syria meeting

Russia will not attend the coming Friends of Syria meeting, RIA Novosti cites Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich as saying on Thursday.

"Russia was invited to the meeting, but we will not accept this invitation," the spokesman said.

Russia is continuing to support the Assad regime despite international criticism.
