Kazakhstan to move to 4G by 2018

The introduction of 4G cellular standards will be completed by 2018 in
Kazakhstan, the Minister of Transport and Communications of
Kazakhstan, Askar Zhumagaliyev said, Trend reports.

"The introduction of fourth generation mobile standard LTE (4G) in
Kazakhstan will be provided on the basis of "Kazakhtelecom." This year
we will begin preparations for the project. Next year it will be
implemented in Almaty and Astana," Zhumagaliyev said.

He added that by 2014 4G will be implemented in all regional
centers and by 2015 - in all settlements of more than 50 thousand
people.
