UN to discuss human rights in Syria

The UN Human Rights Council will have a special session on Syria today, Interfax reports.

The session will be held at the UN headquarters in Geneva at 11 am. The council will discuss the masscare in Houla. It will be the 19th special session of the council and the 4th special council for Syria since the disorders started in March 2011.

The US, Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Denmark and the EU initiated the session. 21 member states of the council and 20 observer states proposed the session.
