Dollar continues to strengthen in Armenia

The Central Bank of Armenia cannot contain the depreciation of the mational currency, the
dram. The dollar exchange rate continues to grow on the Armenian
financial market, News.am reports.

In total, $1.2 million were sold today at the Armenian stock
exchange. Last week the Central Bank sold $7 million at the Stock
Exchange, but failed to stabilize the exchange rate. After May 6, when
the market began a revaluation of the dollar, the Central Bank has
supplied more than $50 million, but it did not provide any drastic
change.
