Iran to play essential role in merging Gulf and Caspian Region
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIran may play an essential role in merging the Caspian Region and the Gulf, as stated by Husein Ismaili, Director General of the Department for Europe, America and Caspian States of the Iranian Petroleum Ministry, at the 19th Caspian Oil and Gas Conference in Baku on Wednesday, Trend reports.
Iran is the second-largest oil state of OPEC. It exports gas to Turkey and is considering exports to Pakistan, Syria, Iraq and Europe.
The Caspian Oil and Gas Conference is held in Baku on June 5-8. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended its opening. The Azerbaijani Ministry for Industry and Energy and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic support the conference. Over 300 companies from 25 states are taking part in it this year.
