Azerbaijani and Latvian Agriculture Ministries sign cooperation memorandum

The Azerbaijani and Latvian Ministries for Agriculture signed a cooperation memorandum in Baku on Thursday, 1news.az reports.

Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Ismet Abbasov said that two more related documents on cooperation will be signed with Latvia. He has recently visited Latvia.

Abbasov noted that the Azerbaijani president ordered 100% of the population’s demand for food to be fulfilled using national harvests. 38-39% of the population is involved in farming. 48% of the population is rural.

GDP was ordered to be doubled by 2020. In this case, agriculture is a priority goal.
