Smirnov heads Russia's department for administration of governmental affairs

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Igor Smirnov as Director of the Department for Administration of Governmental Affairs today, replacing Vyacheslav Kokunov, as stated on the website of the Russian Cabinet.

Smirnov has been the deputy head of the protocol of the Russian president since 2008.
