Moscow says that the plan of Kofi Annan, special envoy of the UN and LAS, may be adjusted in order to be fulfilled, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Envoy to the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov said, RIA Novosti reports.
Any corrections must base on opinions of international observers and the UN Security Council.
Annan proposed the peace plan for Syria in March. The Syrian government was to withdraw heavy vehicles and troops from cities and start political dialogue. The situation aggravated after the events at Hama. An international monitoring mission was initiated in Syria.
300 military and over 70 civil observers are a good force to find violators of the cease-fire regime in Syria, the deputy minister says. He reminded that Moscow does not want foreign states to interfere in political settlement of the conflict.
The cease-fire announced on April 12 needs to be made stable, Bogdanov emphasizes.
