The Investigation Committee of Russia has begun examining the Caucasus
State Technological Academy of Humanities, which issued a diploma of
Higher Education to the mayor of Pyatigorsk, Lev Travnev, RIA Novosti
reports.

At the end of 2011 the regional media of Stavropol Territory
reported that, according to their data, the mayor of Pyatigorsk had no
higher education, although he claimed the opposite. Later,
Travnev said that he had lost his diploma of higher education and
asked the representatives of his university to issue a new
certificate.

After the university representatives refused to do so, he appealed to
the court and won the case, although there has been no written evidence
of his higher education.
