OSCE chairman to visit South Caucasus

The OSCE Chairman, Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Eamon Gilmore, will arrive in the Armenian capital, Yerevan, on Monday, in the framework of a regional visit, News.am reports.

After visiting Armenia, Gilmore will head to Georgia on Tuesday, and to Azerbaijan on Wednesday to meet with government leaders and representatives of political parties to discussions of the OSCE’s work in the region.

Making progress towards lasting settlements of protracted conflicts in the OSCE area is a key priority of the Irish OSCE chairmanship.

During the visit, the Chairperson-in-Office will discuss the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement process, issues following the 2008 conflict in Georgia and cooperation with the OSCE, in particular with its offices in Yerevan and Baku.
