Azerbaijani lawmakers to attend PACE summer session

An Azerbaijani delegation headed by the chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Committee on International and Interparliamentary Relations and head of the permanent delegation of the Republic to the PACE, Samad Seyidov, will take part in the summer session of PACE that will be held in Strasbourg on June 25-29, Trend reports.

The delegation will include MPs Sevinj Fataliyeva, Ganira Pashayeva, Rafael Huseynov, Sabir Hajiyev, Rovshan Rzayev, Elhan Suleymanov, Sahiba Gafarova, Fazil Mustafa and Aydin Abbasov.

A report on the conducted work of the PACE Standing Committee and the Bureau of the Assembly will be heard. Views on the impact of the economic crisis on local and regional governance in Europe, the situation with human rights in CE member-countries, the transition period in Tunisia, the improvement of the monitoring process of the Assembly, discrimination against Muslim women in Europe and other issues will be exchanged.
