Russian PM and Turkmen president discuss Interregional Energy Dialogue

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at the UN conference for sustainable development in Brazil, Trend reports on Friday.

Optimization of transport streams in Eurasia and solutions to ecological problems are essential for global energy security and the formation of its legal basis. Ashkhabad believes that formation of the Interregional Energy Dialogue under the auspices of the UN would benefit the idea.

Medvedev reminded about mutual interest in practical realization of joint programs and projects for high-tech development, use of alternative energy sources and innovative technologies.

The sides exchanged views on international policy, expressed interest in further cooperation for the sake of common security and consolidation of efforts to solve global economic, social and ecological problems.
