Saakashvili announces plans to open International Maritime University in Batumi

An International Centre for Marines will be open in 2015 in Batumi, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said at celebrations in honor of a sailor, Trend reports.
Saakashvili said that until 2015 all the necessary infrastructure for the new school will be created in Batumi.Saakashvili noted that at the moment there are 18 thousand Georgian sailors on the world's oceans and several captains at international level. "This is the major source of income for the port cities of Poti and Batumi," he said.
