Turkey not to declare war on Syria for downed aircraft

Turkey does not intend to enter into a war with Syria because of the downed plane, but it is going to demand an apology and compensation, the official representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkey, Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc told reporters, RIA Novosti reports.

As reported previously by VK, the Turkish Air Force reconnaissance aircraft RF-4E had disappeared from radar screens half hour after the takeoff in the airspace of the Mediterranean Sea near the border with Syria. Syria said it had shot down the Turkish aircraft after it invaded its airspace.

Turkey argues that the plane was shot down while being in the international airspace, and its fragments fell into the territorial waters of Syria.
