Iran not invited to Syria conference - Kofi Annan

UN envoy Kofi Annan says he has not invited Iran or Saudi Arabia for a conference on Syria, Associated Press reports.

Annan sent invitations to the five veto-wielding UN security council members (Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States) and Turkey. He also said the invitations included the UN secretary general and representatives of the Arab League.
