China and Singapore have been crossed off the sanctions list of the US due to their reduction of Iranian oil purchases, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said, RIA Novosti reports.

The US Congress authorized the administration to pass additional unilateral sanctions against foreign financial institutions and companies working with Iran. The goal is the economic isolation of Iran and its Central Bank.

The republicans are expected to criticize the government for being too "smooth" with China.
