The Iranian Defense Ministry and the Aerospace Industries Organization filed a lawsuit against Rosoboronexport in Geneva for $4 billion, Vzglyad reports.

The lawsuit was filed on April 13, 2011, with a demand for compensation of $3,985,159,773.32 for violating the contracts on provisions of special equipment, Interfax reports.

Iran filed a lawsuit for failure to supply it with S-300 missile complexes. Russia returned $166.8 million paid for the complexes due to economic sanctions against Iran.

The UN Security Council passed the fourth resolution against Iran in June 2010, prohibiting sales of missiles, tanks, assault helicopters, combat jets and ships to Iran.

Russia signed a contract on shipments of S-300 complexes to Iran in 2007. The contract was worth $800 million, unofficial sources say.
