Turkey plans no war with Syria

Turkey does not plan war with Syria, Commander of the Turkish General Staff Nejet Ozer said, Trend reports.

Turkey will cooperate with other states, the official notes. Ankara will respond to any provocations by Syria.

The crisis in relations between Turkey and Syria escalated after a Turkish RF-4E jet was shot down in Syria when flying from the Erhac base in the Malatya Province. Syria said that the jet was shot down for violating the territorial waters. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that the plane was shot down at the international aerospace, but its remains flew to Syrian territorial waters.

Turkey brought additional armored vehicles to the Syrian border after Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s fears over security threats from President Bashar al-Assad.
