Istanbul approves construction of new oil pipelines from Iraq

Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz has approved construction of new oil pipelines from Iraq to fulfill increasing demands for energy resources, Trend reports.
The Qirqiq-Yumurtaliq Pipeline will have capacity increased multifold in three years.
The Turkish Institute for Statistics said that import of energy resources increased by 21.1% in January-April 2012, compared with the same period in 2011, to $19.585 billion. Botas import reached $13.2 billion.
Baghdad promised sanctions against Turkish companies for signing petroleum deals with the government of Kurdistan, Iraqi Petroleum Minister Asim Jihad said.
