Platform collapses at metrobus stop in Istanbul

A platform used to cover a hole during repair work at a metrobus stop in Istanbul collapsed yesterday, Hurriyet reported. 

The new stop, which was built after construction began on the main Avcılar stop, went into service before all the work had been completed.

The platform covering a two-meter hole collapsed due to the passengers’ weight, according to reports.

People fell into the hole but were rescued by other passengers.

No injuries were reported.
