Contracts on shipments of defense equipment and helicopters to Syria will be fulfilled, as stated by Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, Deputy Director of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, RIA Novosti reports.

Dzirkaln said earlier that Russia would not make new shipments to Syria until the situation stabilizes. Russia is fulfilling contracts signed in 2008 to repair helicopters and air defenses.

No new contracts have been signed, the deputy director says. Russia wants the situation in Syria to settle.

Use of air defenses against the population is impossible. Russia provides Pantsir, Buk M-1 and other types of anti-missile systems.
