Yanukovych: Karabakh conflict resolution will be priority during Ukrainian presidency of OSCE
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaUkraine during its presidency of the OSCE intends to promote the
process of a Karabakh peace settlement, including the achievement of specific
decisions, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said during the
informal meeting with the Club of Editors of the CIS countries, Baltic
states and Georgia, "News-Azerbaijan" reports.
Ukraine will be the president of the OSCE in 2013 after a decision by
the 56 OSCE States in November 2010.
Viktor Yanukovych said that the formal talks with Azerbaijan and
Armenia to resolve the disputed issues will start in January 2013.
"The principle of respect for international law is dominant. The search
for compromises in the settlement process will be carried out to an
equal degree," the President of Ukraine said.
The Ukrainian President stressed that he had good relations with both
the president of Azerbaijan and the president of Armenia.
"There is no other way but a peaceful settlement," the President
of Ukraine said, quoting the saying "a bad peace is better than war."
