Former Egyptian vice president dies

Former Egyptian Vice President and Intelligence Chief Omar Suleiman has died, Gazeta.ru reports.
Suleiman was one of the highest-ranking officials of President Hosni Mubarak. The 76-year old official was being treated in Cleveland (USA). His assistant Husein Kamal did not clarify the death reason.
Suleiman was Vice President on January 29 – February 11, 2011. Mubarak expected to pass the power to him. The Central Electoral Committee did not allow Suleiman to take part as a candidate at the presidential polls.
