The Guardian says that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was wounded in the terrorist attack yesterday. He was taken to Latakia, while his wife Esma and kids were taken to Russia.

The blast at the Ministry of National Security in Syria resulted in deaths of Defense Minister Dawood Rajiha, his deputy and president’s brother-in-law Asef Shawkat and General Hasan Turkomani.

The White House spokesman Jay Carney said that the US were unaware about the location of al-Assad.
