Hurriyet published an article by Nihat Ali Ozcan headlined 'Erdoğan’s Russia visit and the Syria issue.' The visit has shown that Russia will not change its position on the Syrian crisis, the author admits.

"It will be no surprise for Erdoğan to realize that Turkey will be left alone in the coming days. What’s more, while Syria’s domestic dispute continues, Turkey will have to face both domestic and international problems," he says.

"At this point, there are three alternatives for Turkey. The first is to lead a military intervention. The second is to strengthen and develop indirect interference. The third is to remove the Syrian issue from the public and government agenda," Ozcan concludes.

Murat Yetkin also wrote an article on the issue. A recent attack on Syrian officials highlighted that the situation is critical. It should be onbvious for both al-Assad and Putin that there is no chance of maintaining the Syrian regime.

"But there is still another option for al-Assad to save his people from further bloodshed and also to save the lives of his family and himself. That is to take a flight either to Russia or to any other country that can host and protect him, and let the Syrian people decide their own future," the article reads.
