Israel organizes military drills at Aegean Sea

Israeli Naval Forces have had the first drills with use of artillery in the Aegean Sea, SalamNews reports.

Israel used the Sa’ar 5 and Sa’ar 4.5 class ships at the Greek territorial waters. Greece did not take part in the drills near the Turkish border.

Greek and Turkish Foreign Karolos Papoulias and Massoud Yilmaz signed a moratorium on military drills in Athens in 1988. Drills were banned for the tourism season.

Israel has activated cooperation with Greece and the Cyprus after escalation of tensions with Turkey.
